Led by our Chair Peter Biggs, the WREDA Board brings together leaders with a broad range of experience, knowledge and expertise. All are passionate about Wellington's success, and are collectively responsible for setting WREDA's strategic direction.

Chris Whelan takes the helm as the inaugural Chief Executive of the Wellington Regional Economic Development Agency. Chris is tasked with realising WREDA's vision for Wellington to be the most liveable, prosperous and vibrant city region in Australasia by 2025.

Responsible for managing a portfolio of civic-owned venues, the Venues and Project Development team facilitates the delivery of hundreds of performance and business events annually. The venues, which combine heritage and character with state of the art technology, include the TSB Bank Arena, St James Theatre, and the proposed Wellington Convention Centre.
