The Wellington region

Wellington is located in the centre of New Zealand at the southern end of the North Island and just a 3.5 hour flight from the east coast of Australia.  All major roads in the North Island lead to Wellington and there are inter-island ferries connecting Wellington with the South Island. Its geographic position is 41.17S 174.47E.
