Drive just over an hour north of Wellington, where you will find 36 wineries nestled around the town square.
Arrive in Martinborough and head to the Martinborough Wine Centre to pick up a map and information about the region.
TIP: Hire a bicycle from the Martinborough Wine Centre and explore this region that is recognised for its award-winning Pinot Noir.
Tour boutique wineries, meet passionate winemakers and take home a few bottles of your favourite! Enjoy lunch in a vineyard café.
TIP: Sample delicious olive oils at the region’s oldest commercial olive grove, Olivo. Or experience decadent delights from specialist food producers.
In the afternoon, drive to Greytown and discover its colonial charm and vibrant boutique shopping and café scene.
TIP: Take a break at one of Greytown's delicious cafes and restaurants and sample quality cuisine with fresh local produce.
