Day 4: Explore the regions
Head north to the Wairarapa region and discover the boutique wine village of Martinborough or the charming delights of Greytown.

Journey just 45 minutes north of Wellington to Kapiti Island, where you will find yourself on a small island steeped in Maori history. Spend a day amongst beautiful native New Zealand bush, where kiwis have been released into the wild.

Take a three hour cruise on The Interislander and discover the stunning Marlborough Sounds. The Marlborough region is known for its striking natural beauty and internationally acclaimed Sauvignon Blanc.
TIP: Pick up a wine map and head to New Zealand’s largest wine growing region.
TIP: Walk or mountain bike the stunning Queen Charlotte track.

If time permits take a drive from Marlborough to Kaikoura, a township known for it’s whale watching. Several different species of whale can be seen from Kaikoura’s coast at different times of the year.

Take a short 20 minute flight from Wellington to Nelson and experience the diverse beauty that the region has to offer, from the clear blue waters of Tasman Bay to deep alpine lakes and vast unspoilt forests.
TIP: Spend the day sea kayaking and taking a guided walk in Abel Tasman National Park, one of New Zealand’s most popular national parks.
