Great gigs and cool concerts

Whether it’s a big name, electric beats or hip hop happenings, Wellington will have you tapping your toes or going manic in the mosh pit. Load up your nights with some of these tunes:

International headliners

Grammy Award winners, Keith Urban and Carrie Underwood are headed our way for one night only this December! The duo will be performing some of their greatest hits as a part of Urban's RipCord World Tour (3 Dec).

After a much anticipated reunion, Ben Harper and the Innocent Criminals (4 Dec) are coming to Wellington's TSB Bank Arena with their eclectic mix of blues, folk, soul, reggae and rock music.

Get ready to rock at Westpac Stadium when legends, Guns N' Roses (2 Feb 2017) kick off their 'Not in this Lifetime tour' right here in Wellington. With Axl Rose, Slash and Duff McKagan all back together, this is a rock concert you won't want to miss!

A classic touch

NZ OPera SweeneyTodd Thumb

Wellington is home to the Grammy-nominated New Zealand Symphony Orchestra (NZSO) and their 2016 season has plenty to entertain. Special international guests and formidable New Zealand talent join the NZSO to delight audiences with memorable concerts.

Orchestra Wellington's 2016 season 'Last Words' explores some of the final masterpieces of great composers like Mozart, Strauss and Tchaikovsky.

Don't miss New Zealand Opera's production of the deliciously scary musical thriller, Sweeney Todd (30 Sep - 5 Oct). For all its dark humour, it tells a very human tale: revenge, obsession and lust, yes, but also pain, yearning, even love.

Festival fun
