A world-wandering singer and composer with family roots in Louisiana, Julianna Barwick has spent the decade, in the words of The Fader "articulating the ineffable" through largely wordless soundscapes built around multiple loops and layers of her rural church choir trained singing voice.

Over the course of three critically acclaimed full-length albums, various collaborative projects and several EPs, she's cultivated an audience across the globe, in the process locating herself within a similar set of spaces to those occupied by Grouper, Meredith Monk, Low and This Mortal Coil. Along the way, Julianna Barwick has played piano for Yoko Ono, performed at Carnegie Hall at the annual Tibet House concert with the Flaming Lips and Philip Glass, re-imagined of Bach's 'Adagio' from Concerto In D Minor and toured with Bon Iver.

With rave reviews for her new album Will coming in from Pitchfork, Resident Advisor, Spin, Tinymixtapes and Drowned In Sound, we look forward to presenting Julianna Barwick live in an intimate concert in Wellington with support from new live act Long Distance.
