ZEALANDIA: The Exhibition is the first facility fully-dedicated to telling New Zealand’s unique natural history and world-famous conservation story.
Join us on an extraordinary journey… through a paradise that evolved in isolation for 80 million years, brought to life for the first time with state-of-the-art multimedia exhibits.
Step back 1,000 years to the ‘day before humans arrived’. Stand face-to-face with the long-lost giants of the bird world – the ten foot-high moa and the man-eating Haast’s eagle. Witness centuries of catastrophic loss on the big screen as generations of new settlers and the animals and plants they brought with them change the face of New Zealand forever. Then head upstairs to find out what New Zealanders are doing to put the pieces of our shattered paradise back together.
Meet some of New Zealand’s conservation heroes and learn about our country’s most important sanctuaries and safe havens.

More to see: Head out to our sanctuary valley to see conservation in action and meet some of New Zealand’s most remarkable endangered species such as tuatara, takahē, kākā, hihi and more, all living wild within the safety of our pest-exclusion fence.
