Dance the night away with these great events

• Celebrate the New Year with the family at the waterfront celebrations - there'll be roving entertainment around the waterfront and countdown clocks in Civic Square and Te Papa. 

• Radio Active presents Fox Love 2011 - Open Souls will light up the stage for their last ever gig, supported by some of Wellington's finest music collectors and live musicians including J-Dubz, The Sweet Mix Kids, Rosco, Don Luchito & Ayesha and more. Be there.

• Bass Frontiers and Sandwiches come together to throw the finest party in town with the legendary DJ Klute - it's your only chance to see Klute in NZ this summer. Joining him to smash it up will be Samurai Music main man Presha, Bass Frontiers / Fried Chicken party crasher DDog and more.

• Have fun with Atomic vs 24 Hour Party People at the San Francisco Bathhouse. Atomic is Wellington's long(est) running new wave, new romance & synth pop night and '24 Hour Party People' is a celebration of alternative pop music right up to today's indie. 

• Dance along to The Beat Girls at Public bar - they've also got DJ Viper on the night.
    
   
• Check out the A Low Hum's NYE party at The Garden Club - multiple rooms, multiple stages, 12 hours of party all night long.

• Celebrate Latin American styles at Estadio with live music, delicious fare and lots of fun. There's no cover charge but you will need to book your table for dinner. 

• Listen to the soulful sounds of Bella Kalolo at The Southern Cross - there's no cover charge!

• Twinset and Louis Baker will be playing live at Plum Cafe from 7pm. Bookings recommended.

• All the bars on Courtenay Place and Cuba will also be open for a good time - be prepared to pay cover charges at some of them.  

• If you're not one to party till the wee hours head out for a lovely dinner at one of Wellington's fine restaurants. Logan Brown has an amazing menu on offer and so does Fratelli, Betty's and Caffe Italiano on Cuba Street. 

• Dine and dance the night away at Whitby's restaurant in the James Cook - a lavish buffet is on offer plus the Hipnotics will be playing till late. Bookings are recommended.
