Creatives from New Zealand and across the globe will gather in the capital from November for a range of conferences which celebrate both innovation and inspiration.

New Zealand’s premier digital entertainment event, AnimfxNZ, sets the tone on 15 November at New Zealand’s national museum, Te Papa.

The annual three-day symposium brings together professionals from animation, visual effects, games and digital film industries worldwide. Top speakers include Patrick Liu, Creative Director from Rovio – makers of hit game Angry Birds – and DreamWorks Animation Visual Effects Supervisor, David Prescott.

On 16 November, Semi-Permanent - the world-leading multi-disciplinary design conference - makes its Wellington debut at the city’s iconic Embassy Theatre.

From directing Lady Gaga's music videos to designing typography for the London Olympics 2012, and producing Mad Men’s first pilot to developing a webcast video for indie sensations Arcade Fire, the line up of award-winning international presenters is sure to impress.

Less than a week later, the 20th Screen Production and Development Association (SPADA) conference takes place at Mac’s Function Centre on 22 November.

With a key plenary session by four time BAFTA recipient Robert Thirkell, this two day event is a highlight for anyone involved in the screen production industry.

TEDxTeAro rounds things off on 1 December at Te Papa with a focus on world-changing ideas. This independently organised TED event showcases inspiring stories from amazing people.

This spectacular line-up of events proves once again that Wellington is the premiere destination in the South Pacific for design, screen and digital creatives working at the cutting edge of their fields.
