The Wicked Welly Tiki Tour is the latest campaign from KNOW Wellington, the downtown marketing programme behind initiatives such as the Wellington Wishing Well and the Wondrous Wellington Advent Calendar.

Positively Wellington Tourism Chief Executive David Perks says over 46,000 Wellingtonians currently subscribe to the fortnightly KNOW Wellington eNews, which is now launching a bespoke edition for the city’s students.

The Wicked Welly Tiki Tour was developed to launch the new edition while recruiting more student subscribers.

“In Wellington you'll find a café in a tugboat, a brewery in a garage, and a restaurant with a kitchen garden on the roof – it’s just about knowing where to look."

"KNOW Wellington prides itself on keeping locals up-to-date on the city’s newest additions, best deals and tastiest spots."

“KNOW Wellington prides itself on keeping locals up-to-date on the city’s newest additions, best deals and tastiest spots.”

For the chance to win three seats on the bus set to tiki tour around some of the capital’s best places to eat, drink and visit, students just have to sign up to the fortnightly KNOW Wellington eNews at WellingtonNZ.com/TikiTour.

“The winners and their friends will get to sample some caffeine and craft brews, chow down on tasty treats and visit a few secret spots, all while under the watchful guise of funny guy and tiki tour guide, Ben Hurley.”

The more people who enter, the better the prize gets with additional tiki tour stops, (or ‘power ups’) including a lion encounter at Wellington Zoo, being unlocked as the number of entries climb.

All tertiary students aged 18 and over who are studying in Wellington can enter – whether you’ve grown up in the capital or moved here to study.

The five Wicked Welly Tiki Tour winners will be drawn on Monday 24 March, with the 15-strong tour departing 5pm on Friday 4 April.

Entrants will receive a bespoke student version of the KNOW Wellington eNews which will include gig guides, daily dining and drink deals, giveaways and more.
