13 Nov 2013

The Local Organising Committee of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 has put the focus firmly on families in their announcement of ticketing information for the ICC’s flagship event.

Wellington's Westpac Stadium.

Children’s tickets for every pool match are just $5. Prices for adults during the 42-match pool stage start from just $20, meaning that a family of four can attend this once in a generation event from just $50.

Tickets go on general sale from February 14 next year, but fans who want a chance to buy before then can register at www.cricketworldcup.com to have access to a pre-sale. Travel packages for the tournament, which runs from 14 February to 29 March 2015, are on sale from today at www.icctravel.net.

Therese Walsh, Head of New Zealand for ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 said: “We learned in 1992 that this is a tournament which has the potential to capture the imagination of New Zealanders and inspire children to give cricket a go. We want to see that happen again, and what we’ve announced today is pricing that makes it affordable for fans and families to get among the action and see the best teams and best players going head to head in our backyard.”

The four matches at the Wellington Regional Stadium will be:

England v New Zealand (D/N)Friday 20 February
England v Sri Lanka (D)Sunday 1 March
South Africa v Qualifier (Q4) (D/N)Thursday 12 March
Quarter Final (D/N)Saturday 21 March

The ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 is being jointly hosted by Australia and New Zealand, with the capital being allocated a Quarter Final and three Pool Games in the premiere international 50 Over cricket tournament.

Adult tickets for the Wellington quarter-final, which will feature New Zealand should they qualify, range from $50 to $150.

“This is cricket’s most prestigious global tournament... we expect high demand for tickets and we’re operating on a first come first served basis, so fans are encouraged to register early to get the seats they want,” continued Ms Walsh.
