Borders
Borders, the world's second-largest book chain, recently opened its first store in Wellington.
With its headquarters in the United States, Borders operates more than 487 superstores in the US and 61 stores primarily in Britain and the Pacific region.
Borders will have five New Zealand stores by the end of the year, with this new Wellington store and two in Auckland joining existing stores in Auckland and Christchurch.
The Wellington store on Lambton Quay is 2000 square metres and includes a cafe. It carries more than 200,000 book, cd, dvd and magazine titles, including books by New Zealand writers and a Maori-language range.
