Cecil Veda Gallery is located in the old Para St. grocery store in the heart of the Miramar film district. Named after its director’s grandparents, the gallery exhibits work from a selection of established to emerging artists.
The work shown ranges from the ebullient irreverence of ceramicists Madeleine Child and Philip Jarvis to the painterly control of Denys Watkins... But in every artist selected there is a commonality - a critical and contextual awareness of what has gone before and an understanding of where they fit into the scheme of things. Visual agility, curiosity, steadfastness, obsessiveness and singlemindedness are all qualities you will encounter in the work exhibited.
Rather than holding one person shows, the gallery is set up more like a quirky art shop that also offers gorgeous cut flowers for sale on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
Grab a coffee from over the road and come and check them out.
Tuesday to Friday: 10am - 3pm
Saturday: 10am - 4pm
