The film community not only makes their mark on Wellington through movies, but also through their art.
Izzat Design – whose artists created props for films such as Avatar, The Lord of the Rings trilogy and King Kong – have contributed to a range of exhibitions at Te Papa, recreating seven extinct birds of New Zealand for the Blood, Earth, Fire exhibition and the incredibly lifelike scene of a typical New Zealand family in a snap shot of life during WWII in the Slice of Heaven exhibition.
Also, the giant baby from Sir Peter Jackson's 1996 comedy-horror The Frighteners can be found in the Discovery Centre on Level 4.
