Co-owned by Oscar winners Peter Jackson, Richard Taylor and Jamie Selkirk, Stone Street Studios is set on an 8-acre site in Miramar.
The studio complex houses New Zealand's only purpose-built shooting stages together with extensive warehouse, production office, costume and makeup amenities.
The 24,500 square foot "Kong" stage is on a par with the biggest and best sound stages in Hollywood or London.
The Stone Street facilities were extensively used by New Line Cinema, Universal Pictures and Warner Brothers for the production of The Lord of the Rings, King Kong and The Hobbit movies. Scenes for James Cameron's Avatar were also filmed here.
