Visit Old St Paul’s, Wellington’s premier heritage church, this Wellington Open Day, Sunday 26 May. For a gold coin donation you can join a friendly tour guide on a journey back into Wellington’s past. Tours depart regularly throughout the day.

Breathtakingly Beautiful – Wellington’s iconic Old St Paul’s is one of New Zealand’s greatest heritage places and one of the best examples of timber Gothic Revival architecture in the world. A ‘must-see’ experience on your visit to Wellington.

Old St Paul’s is a place of living history, a place that tells the stories – not only of the church but the people of Wellington and the historic suburb of Thorndon.

Constructed in 1866 entirely from native timbers, the glowing interior is enhanced by stunning stained glass.

Join a guided tour and hear about the wonderful and sometimes quirky stories of the church, its site and its people on their journey from colony to independent nation.

Visit “The Church Mouse” – our gift shop features exquisite gifts and NZ keepsakes. Specialising in locally made goods, there is something to suit every taste.

Old St Paul's is just a few minutes stroll from the CBD and its amenities.

Exhibition open. Guided Tours every hour $5pp, $3pp for school students on group tours.

Open 7 Days 9.30am – 5pm

Closed Christmas Day, Good Friday and for short periods during private functions, and special ceremonies.

Entry by donation.
