The Film Archive
The Film Archive collections reflect the breadth of New Zealands moving image history. From the earliest days of cinema to contemporary film, video and digital productions, the collections present a vivid insight into New Zealands culture and daily life. Te Anakura Whitihua in downtown Wellington is home to the collections and staff of the New Zealand Film Archive.
In May 2004 the Archive opened a unique complex of public spaces which include a research library, a multi-media library, a cinema, an exhibition gallery and a street cinema. The mediaplex hosts regularly changing exhibition and screening programmes and also provides study and viewing facilities.
