Hutt River Trail

  • Enter at numerous points along Hutt River

Enter at numerous points along the Hutt River, from the Petone foreshore to Birchville, Upper Hutt. Running from Petone's Hikoikoi Reserve to Birchville, Upper Hutt, the 30km Hutt River Trail reminds of the early Maori foot tracks alongside Te Awa Kairangi (Hutt River).

Ideal for walking, running and cycling, the Hutt River Trail also provides river access for swimming, fishing and kayaking. In most cases the Trail runs on both banks, offering shorter loop routes between bridges. Stroll the leafy glades and open spaces, many local parks and sports fields.
