Wellington Botanic Garden and the Royal New Zealand Foundation of the Blind have introduced a new self-guided walk, to honour Louis Braille.
Sensation Walk – Braille Trail is a walk that engages senses other than that of sight. There are plants to smell, plants to touch, birds to listen to and a variety of surfaces underfoot. It’s an experience to delight and be enjoyed by everyone.
The trail has marker posts and tactile markers at each point of interest and brochures can be picked up from the Treehouse Visitor Centre and Begonia House gift shop.
