A new and convenient way to experience some of Wellington’s top attractions.

The Wellington City Pass gives you a return trip on the cable car and general admission to your choice of two of some of Wellington’s most popular attractions - ZEALANDIA, Carter Observatory or Wellington Zoo.

 

Wellington Cable Car > Return trip

Whisking you from the heart of the city up into the Wellington Botanic Garden with its magnificent lookout over the city and harbour, and easy access to the Cable Car Museum and Carter Observatory and the free ZEALANDIA shuttle.

Open: Cars run every 10 minutes, Mon to Fri: 7am - 10pm. Sat: 8.30am - 10pm. Sun and Public Holidays: 9am – 9pm. (Closed Christmas Day).

Wellington Zoo > General Admission

Meet over 500 native and endangered exotic animals, including Tahi the kiwi (1.15pm daily). Get up close and personal with a range of creatures and their keepers, and view check-ups and procedures at The Nest animal hospital.

ZEALANDIA: The Karori Sanctuary Experience > General Admission

See some of New Zealand’s rarest native animals thriving in the wild and discover 80 million years of natural history brought to life with state-of-the-art multimedia exhibits at this award-winning, world-first eco-attraction just minutes from central Wellington.

Open: Daily 10am - 5pm (last entry to the sanctuary valley is at 4pm; closed Christmas Day).
FREE shuttle departs from the Wellington i-SITE, Te Papa and the top of the Cable Car hourly, from 9.30am - 2.30pm. Painted animal walkway from Cable Car shows the way for those happy to walk for 20-25 minutes.

Carter Observatory > General Admission including Planetarium

New Zealand’s ‘Place for Space’. Take a virtual journey through our Universe in Carter’s new state-of-the-art full-dome digital planetarium. Be inspired by the interactive multimedia exhibition and discover our unique place in space.

Open: Daily 10am - 5pm (except Christmas Day and Boxing Day), with late night stargazing every Tuesday and Saturday until 9.30pm (weather permitting!).

Wellington City Pass is $44 per adult, and $15 for children aged 5 – 16.

(There is no pass available for under 5's.  If you have children under 5yrs just pay the required entry fee at each attraction, as some of the attractions are free for under 5's).


You can also include hop-on, hop off city tour transport as part of the pass. Inclusive options start from $75. Ask the staff at the Wellington i-SITE Visitor Centre for more details.

Passes are for sale at the Wellington i-SITE Visitor Centre and the three participating ticketed attractions (ZEALANDIA, Wellington Zoo and Carter Observatory).

Once you’ve bought your pass, simply present your pass at each of the participating attractions that you’ve chosen. The attraction will remove and keep the applicable voucher. To receive any of the discount offers simply show your pass.

Each pass is valid for seven days from the date stated on it. This includes attractions and discount offers.
