Snapper

What is Snapper?

Snapper is the quick and easy way to pay for your bus fare, taxi fare and low value everyday items such as your newspaper, coffee and sandwiches.

With Snapper you can get through the entire day without carrying cash or any other cards.

Snapper is powered by the world’s leading contactless smartcard technology. Snapper is fast, secure, and it’s safer than carrying cash.

How do I Snapper?

Snappering your bus fare is easy:
Step 1: Ensure your Snapper is topped up
Step 2: As you get on the bus, tag on by holding your Snapper to the Snapper bus reader by the door. Hold your Snapper card by the Snapper symbol on the Snapper bus reader until you see a green circle.
Step 3: As you get off the bus, tag off in the same way. You can tag off at the front or back of the bus.

Use Snapper on a Go Wellington, Valley Flyer, Airport Flyer or Runcimans bus and pocket a 20% discount off the normal single adult cash fare. Tag on and tag off so Snapper knows where your journey starts and ends and can automatically calculate the right discount for you.

Where can I buy a Snapper?

You can buy a Snapper at a Snapper retailer, online or from Snapper HQ - Level 8, Kordia House, 109-125 Willis Street, Wellington.
