Arriving by Cruise Ship
As you cruise into Wellington you will be greeted by the spectacular landscape of the capital city of New Zealand. Nestled between a sparkling harbour and rolling green hills, Wellington offers a chic city experience with a stunning natural setting.
Cruise passengers arrive into one of Wellington’s three terminals: Aotea Quay, Queens Wharf or and the Overseas Terminal.
Aotea Quay Terminal is the main dock for international cruise ships. It will take you approximately eight minutes in a taxi or shuttle to reach the city centre, downtown shopping area, Banks and Post Offices. The walk from Aotea Quay to the downtown area is uncovered and alongside a busy road so it’s well worth taking a taxi or coach, usually available as you disembark, to cover this short distance.
