The Wondrous Wellington Advent Calendar is back, with the 2013 edition bringing a lot of tasty treats as well as a gorgeous new look.
Just like in previous years, each day in the lead up to Christmas – starting December 1 – a festive Wellington treat is revealed. Think two-for-one offers, discounts and exclusive deals at some of Wellington's most wonderful places. We’ve also included some great accommodation deals and gastronomic good times well-suited to our friends from out-of-town.
As well as rewarding those that have been good to Wellington this year, the aim of this KNOW Wellington campaign is to increase foot traffic within Wellington's CBD, while promoting local businesses and extending our digital reach.
We're pretty pleased with the results to-date. In the first eight days, we've had 104,760 visits and 24,349 vouchers emailed out to users - that's over 3,000 per day. Anecdotal feedback from partners has been beyond positive; The Hangar was “packed out” the night after their offer for a $6 hot cocktail came out. Nice.
We've incorporated a bunch of social media sharing buttons into the design too, to help us get the word out there - these have been used over 2,000 times.
This year we enlisted the help of local illustrator, Stephen Templer. Stephen created a picturesque Wellington scene reflecting a number of the city’s most recognised and loved landmarks. Our friends over at our Facebook page also helped us by putting forward what they'd like to see included - thanks guys.
We'll be doing a full breakdown of the stats come January, so be sure to come back and check how it went.
And if you'd like to be involved in future KNOW Wellington campaigns, head on over and sign up to the KNOW Business eDM - or, have a chat to Helen and Hannah from our Digital team.
The net increase in migration to Wellington is good news, and a vote of confidence in the region's economy.
