One of the things I love about Wellington is how collaborative its people are – businesses don’t operate in silos…unless of course, it’s within a six pack of the concrete variety.
For two nights last month, The Capital popped up in Silo 6 on the Auckland waterfront as we sought to give our biggest domestic visitor market a literal taste of what Wellington's got going on.
Thirty-six Wellingtonians descended on Auckland to showcase the great flavours and good times that are to be had in our compact capital, where everything is just a wander away.

To gain awareness, guests and reach, prize promotions were run through our Facebook page and eDMs, the Air New Zealand Fairy, NZ Herald Viva, Denizen, Metro magazine, George FM, ZM, Dai Henwood on Twitter and Auckland Food Blog.
More than 400 invited media, bloggers, food lovers and prize winners attended #TheCapital, which trended on Twitter in Auckland and nationally. Instagram also got its fill of photos and rave reviews about the event.
Central to The Capital philosophy was that it's not about 'Auckland vs Wellington' or 'who's best', it's about sharing great vibes, great flavours and great company. This Instagram post from @foodtruckgarage really reflects this.
