Venues Wellington, a business unit of WREDA, manages 5 of Wellington’s most exciting venues, Michael Fowler Centre, St James Theatre, Opera House, TSB Bank Arena and Auditorium (Shed 6) as well as managing events and the NZ Academy of Fine Arts.
The Venues Wellington Operations Team is looking to appoint a proactive and personable Catering Logistics Coordinator. Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will be the key point of contact / key liaison with our catering supply partners. You will also oversee and approve all catering logistics and planning through our venues and advise event management and the sales teams on catering logistics and planning.
This is your opportunity to take up a key role within the Venues Wellington Operations team.
A particular emphasis for the Catering Logistics Coordinator is on stakeholder management. Liaising with clients, Event Managers and Sales teams regarding an event’s special requirements – i.e. Food stalls, promotional/ sponsorship offerings. Providing up to date information and context to our catering suppliers. Enabling them to effectively and efficiently deliver catering at all performance and corporate events.
To ensure continual evolution of catering operations, you will have previous experience in developing, reviewing and updating SOPs, 3rd Party catering processes and caterer’s alcohol licensing and food safety documentation. You will be a strong communicator with the ability to inspire, shape and influence. You will have a record of building strong relationships that deliver value and continuous improvement.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Experience in retail catering and venue operations
- A good understanding of food licencing, food safety and Liquor licencing act
- Experience in crowd management
- The ability to work days, nights and weekends
