The World of WearableArt (WOW) Show returns to Wellington in September and you’re invited to take part in this year’s promotions around the city.

The World of WearableArt (WOW) Show is New Zealand’s single-largest theatrical production and the capital’s not-to-be-missed annual event. Held over a three-week season from 20 September, the 2023 show brings the TSB Arena stage to life with incredible works of art and entertainment galore. Encompassing dance, music, aerialists, and vivid storytelling, the WOW Show is a unique experience that reflects Wellington’s creative heart.

WellingtonNZ and WOW work in partnership to jointly promote and grow the WOW brand and experience to benefit the city’s economy, reputation, and tourism offering. WOW is a unique and important Wellington experience, and the partnership ensures its ongoing joint success for both WOW-goers and the city.

Participating businesses will be promoted through our WellingtonNZ channels, receive a featured location pin on the WOW map, and will receive marketing assets to promote their involvement in this year’s competition, at no cost.

Registrations are now open for CBD businesses to participate in the 2023 WOW activation - BEYOND in Wellington. These activations can create experiences, offerings, or special promotions tailored to the WOW audience. Offerings need to be unique for the WOW season, for example, a discount for ticket holders, WOW-themed food or drinks, a pre-show meal, or a themed event.

These offerings will be promoted via WellingtonNZ and WOW channels in bespoke content, paid advertising, and social media. WellingtonNZ will create itineraries targeted at WOW audiences encompassing these offerings, ensuring their visibility within the target market.

As an additional, optional part of the activation, local businesses can partner on joint events. These one-off events can entice WOW audiences and locals with unique, tailored experiences. This might look like hospitality within retail, a VIP shopping experience, or bespoke workshops. Communal activations will receive priority promotion within WellingtonNZ content and activity.
