Coco at the Roxy

Coco at the Roxy Cinema is a unique Wellington venue. The art deco façade of the 1928 cinema has been retained, with the interior completely rebuilt to feature two luxurious state‐of‐the‐art cinemas, Coco Restaurant (open for brunch, lunch and dinner) and a cocktail lounge that revives the 20s/30s era. Capacities range from small groups to over 100 for sit down dining. Special canape, cocktail, banquet, and buffet menus are available. Mid to high range, modern NZ cuisine. Closed Mondays.
Monsoon Poon
12 Blair Street, Te Aro, Wellington
At Monsoon Poon guests can view the open kitchen, watching chefs wield their tools whilst preparing and cooking a fabulous array of food from Vietnam, Thailand, China, India, Malaysia and Indonesia. The Atrium space can hold up to 100 people seated, or 200 people canape style. Groups should book in advance. There is a great selection of banquet menus starting at NZ$39 and no one leaves hungry, making it a good choice for casual dining and student groups. Mid‐range, Asian fusion. Halal‐friendly.
Rata Café
Waiapu Road, Karori, Wellington
Rata is the café at the unique, award-winning wildlife attraction Zealandia Te Māra a Tāne, located just minutes from Wellington's central business district.
Rata Café has a relaxing location overlooking the reservoir and offers casual café style dining. There is also a balcony for outdoor dining. Rata seats up to 130 with exclusive use, either canape style or seated, and can accommodate coach groups. Open seven days, for lunch only.
Dockside
Queens Wharf, Te Aro, Wellington
Housed in a historic waterfront shed, Dockside’s maritime theme shines through in their largely seafood-based menu and is situated in a harbourside location on Queens Wharf in the heart of Wellington. The private dining room can seat up to 18, the third floor upstairs room seats up to 80 (not wheelchair accessible) and the main deck seats up to 150. Open 7 days. Mid to high range.
Foxglove

Foxglove on Wellington Waterfront has a variety of spaces available for group dining. The Foxtail Champagne Bar seats up to 32 for private dinners on request, while The Games Room on the second level can seat 54. Each space has its own unique personality, adorned with a touch of 1940s vintage glamour and coupled with sweeping harbour views from every vantage point. The adjacent Queens Wharf Ballroom is a gorgeous private function space for up to 150 guests.
Mac’s Brewbar
4 Taranaki Street, Te Aro, Wellington
Mac’s is located on the waterfront next to the Te Papa museum. The menu is pub style and designed to be matched to Mac’s fine brews. The Front Room on the ground floor is semi‐private and seats 20‐25. Three other private spaces cater for 150 to 230 people seated. Open 7 days. Casual pub dining.
Hippopotamus

Named after the world’s giant aquatic ballet dancer, Hippo has a real taste of the majestic. Decadent degustation by multi-award-winning chef Jiwon Do, where French flavours pirouette with locally grown produce. Groups of up to 70 can soak up the harbour views and flamboyant Parisian decor. La Salon is also available as a private dining room for up to 12 people.
