Startup Garage is an event series run by Creative HQ that’s open to anyone. Taking place twice a month, they introduce attendees to some of New Zealand’s best talent for a behind the scenes look at how they get things done. It’s a great networking opportunity with three streams of activity; office visits, hosting visiting speakers of inspiring stories, and holding information expert sessions.
Startup Weekend is an annual event where entrepreneurs, developers, and designers get together to form new businesses in a 54-hour marathon of ideas and collaboration. With all skill levels and backgrounds, it’s a great opportunity to meet others in the startup community and get coached by world class mentors.
Webstock is an annual technology conference in Wellington which hosts international speakers from high profile businesses such as Google and Facebook. It also holds workshops for attendees and a competition for entrepreneurs called Startup Alley, giving eight budding entrepreneurs the chance to win a $20,000 cash prize, plus support from New Zealand Trade and Enterprise and a trip to the US to grow their business.
