With an entirely vegetarian menu, Hillside Kitchen offers a creative, inclusive style of cuisine that pushes the boundaries of modern New Zealand dining.

Chef, Asher Boote, is focused on celebrating ingredients in their own right, not as a substitute for meat and serves dairy products and eggs from ethical small local producers and suppliers. 

Working closely with local suppliers and producers and foraging for ingredients within the region, Hillside also has a kitchen garden, giving Hillside’s staff a direct connection to the ingredients they serve. The waste from the kitchen and bar is currently being converted into compost for the garden creating a low waste loop. 

Hillside was finalist in Cuisine's Good Food Awards 2018 as one of the top 100 restaurants in the New Zealand.
