Due to the overwhelming demand we have moved the event with Roger Walker (ONZM) indoors into The Dowse Art Museum and are reopening registrations for the event. We’d love you to join us.
Roger Walker is a prominent Wellington-based architect, who has drawn on the Metabolist ethos throughout his practice and you can see this in some of the buildings he designed in the Wellington and Lower Hutt region. Join us to hear Walker discuss his extensive practice with a full slideshow.
This talk is presented in conjunction with Deanna Dowling’s work in SOLO 2018. ‘Young wood is restless,’ which is a reflection on the impermanence and cyclical building practices at the heart of Japanese construction. Dowling draws on the Metabolist movement which emerged in a post-war context as an architectural movement fusing ideas about organic growth and mega-structures.
If you have booked for the tour, your reservation will automatically transfer to the seated presentation.
If you have booked in to the walking tour, but no longer wish to come to the talk at The Dowse, you can cancel your ticket through Eventbrite (under 'Manage your order' and choose 'cancel order') or email Milly Mitchell-Anyon, the Programmes and Events Co-ordinator, at [email protected] if you have any problems.
