Don't miss your chance to witness "musical theatre royalty doing what she does best" (Grapevine) when singer Elaine Paige performs at the Michael Fowler Centre.
Elaine Paige at the Michael Fowler Centre on Wed 10 Oct 2018 has been postponed to Sat 19 Jan 2019. We have the following statement from the promoter:
"Due to unexpected logistical issues, we have had to reschedule Elaine Paige’s October tour. Fortunately, she is still coming to New Zealand in January 2019. She will be performing at all of the same venues with the exception of Auckland which has had to be relocated to the Bruce Mason Centre. All current tickets remain valid for the new shows, however if you cannot make the new dates please contact your ticketing provider for a full refund by Thursday 11th October 2018."
Singer Elaine Paige will perform songs from her illustrious career along side an array of her favourite tracks by contemporary songwriters on her latest tour. This follows on from the huge successes of Elaine’s last series of concerts in the UK in 2016 and 2017, which had audiences and critics alike rising to their feet in praise.
"an exceptional show that represents both a carefully formulated evening’s entertainment and a genuine labour of love”
As a musical theatre performer, Elaine has made a major contribution to the modern musical. She has starred in more smash hit West End and Broadway musicals than anyone else of her generation and continues to present the hugely successful weekly BBC Radio 2 show Elaine Paige on Sunday, now approaching its 15th year on air, which is devoted to musical theatre and film music, and continues to delight audiences of over 2.5 million listeners each week with its mix of music, news and interviews.
"With her biggest hit Memory from Cats and With One Look from Sunset Boulevard as part of the set list, it’s a moment you don’t want to miss.”
Elaine said: "I'm so excited about taking this concert to more venues across the globe, we’ve had such a great time performing it over the past couple of years. It allows me to do something completely different, a brand new show celebrating songwriters I love such as Harry Nilsson, Jim Webb, Burt Bacharach, Lennon & McCartney, Tim Rice & Andrew Lloyd Webber ... the list goes on… as well as many of my hits such as I Know Him So Well, Don’t Cry for Me Argentina and of course my signature Memory. This music has been the soundtrack to all our lives, not just mine. And it’s the ideal opportunity to perform in an intimate way.”
Elaine has performed live in concert all over the world and as a recording artist has worked with legendary producers such as Tony Visconti, Dennis Lambert, Peter Matz, and Phil Ramone amongst others and has released 22 solo albums (4 multi-Platinum and 9 Gold,) been featured on 7 cast recordings and has had major worldwide hits with songs such as ‘Memory’ (Cats) and ‘I Know Him So Well’ (Chess.)
