American writer Patricia Lockwood set the verse world alight with poems like “Rape Joke” from her 2014 collection Motherland Fatherland Homelandsexuals.

Her memoir Priestdaddy centres on her father, his unlikely conversion to Catholicism and married priesthood, which he came to after crewing on a nuclear submarine and watching The Exorcist more than 70 times in 88 days.

It has drawn universal rave reviews and made the New York Times Books of 2017 Top 10.

With broadcaster Kim Hill.
