The Centre has a large variety of live displays highlighting many of the marine habitats and species found along Wellington's unique South Coast.
Education programmes at the Centre foster respect and appreciation of local marine life and explore the role humans play in this and other coastal habitats.
The School Visit Programme has been designed to meet the requirements of the New Zealand Science Curriculum and emphasises a hands-on approach to learning. Activities can be tailored to suit the needs of any age group and are linked to one or more of the six science learning strands.
The Centre is located in Island Bay, 10 minutes drive from downtown Wellington.
Admission: Charges vary depending on group size and length of visit.
