The National Library of New Zealand, Te Puna Matauranga o Aotearoa, is one of the country's leading cultural and information centres.

It also houses the world famous Alexander Turnbull Library, a 'library within a library', specialising in documentary materials - books, manuscripts, photographs, drawings and prints, cartoons, music, newspapers, maps and oral histories.

The Gallery exhibits works primarily from the Library's heritage collections and also runs a lively events programme.

The National Library Molesworth Street building is now open to the public after an extensive three year refurbishment project. Our facilities have been greatly improved, our collections are now safely housed and more readily available, and our services have never been better. Come and check out what we have on offer.
