Ngā Toi | Arts Te Papa

Ngā Toi | Arts Te Papa (Level 5) is Te Papa’s changing programme of art from the national collection and beyond. The latest season of Ngā Toi, New Zealand Photography Collected, showcases a collection of rare and fascinating photos of New Zealand, from 19th-century portraits to family snapshots, and dramatic landscapes to modern art photography. 

Simon Denny’s acclaimed Venice Biennale exhibition Secret Power is one of many praised showcases that Te Papa has available. Secret Power explores surveillance, espionage, and New Zealand’s role in the Five Eyes international intelligence alliance.

Te Papa tours

Te Papa offers daily tours for individuals and small groups, plus private tours for larger groups. 

A guided tour with an experienced, knowledgeable guide is a great way to explore Te Papa. As well as being fun, it adds depth to your museum experience, increases understanding and helps orient the first time visitor. 

Te Papa can also deliver private group tours in English, Māori, French, German, Spanish, and Mandarin.
