The National Library houses the Alexander Turnbull Library, which holds a rich and varied collection of research material (books, manuscripts, photographs, drawings and prints, music, newspapers, maps and oral history tapes) relating to New Zealand, the Pacific and beyond.
The newly revamped Molesworth Street building offers visitors services relevant to the 21st century New Zealander.
The National Library Molesworth Street building is now open to the public after an extensive three year refurbishment project. Their facilities have been greatly improved, collections are now safely housed and more readily available, and services have never been better.

The National Library is open from Monday to Saturday, 8.30am to 5pm.
The Alexander Turnbull Reading Rooms and Turnbull Gallery are open Monday to Saturday 10.00am, to 5pm.
