1500 Ha in size, and home to more than 10000 sheep and 500 cattle, this rural paradise is definitely worth the trip. From the top of the farm you'll look out onto Palliser Bay and beyond, with beautiful views of the South Island's Kaikoura ranges.

Palliser Ridge is owned by Jim and Marilyn Law, who in 2008 employed a young Stock Manager by the name of Kurt, who was to become their Manager and later receive a shareholding in the business.

10 years later Kurt still manages the farm operation and participates regularly in hosting farm guests, and his wife Lisa looks after the new additions to the business, including meat, wool, honey and tourism.

We’re excited to open our farm gates to you and offer the Woolshed Experience, Farm Experience and our newly added Mini Tour.

Our Farm Experience offers you a 3 hour full overview of our farming operation, taking you from our main woolshed at Palliser Ridge, over the farm and back again. You’ll witness stock shifts with our very clever work dogs, the fantastic coastal views where on a good day you’ll see the ranges in the South Island, and you’ll check in on the bee hives and have a wee taste of the delicious honey that they are producing for us.

Back at the Palliser Ridge Woolshed, you’ll see the sheep being shorn, and learn about the fantastic properties of wool, and the other products we are producing for market such as lamb, beef, honey and other farm related merchandise.

Because this tour is over our farm tracks, it is weather dependent, check in with Lisa for more info. To learn more about our Palliser Ridge Farm Experience and how to book, check out our website.

Our Mini Farm Tours are a new offering that is available regularly as we open our Woolshed Store throughout the Summer. Our store will be open each fortnight from 12pm until 4pm, with Mini Tours available on a first in first served basis. These will leave at 1pm and finish at 2.30pm, the perfect taste of our farm life.
