Saint Paul's is one of the capital city's landmark buildings.
The Wellington Cathedral of St Paul stands alongside Parliament and is used for both daily worship and services of national and international importance.
The building has strong royal connections. HM Queen Elizabeth laid the cathedral's foundation stone in 1954 and another special commemorative stone in 1995 when the cathedral was completed. An historic wooden church serves as the Lady Chapel.
Other highlights include stained and engraved glass, a memorial to World War 1's Gallipoli campaign, a huge 4680-piece fabric mosaic depicting Christ and a 3500-pipe organ. Entrance is free, guided tours available, parking for coaches, gift shop.
