Brewing at the bays: Parrotdog
When the wind blows a certain way, you can smell the hops brewing at Parrotdog Brewery in Lyall Bay
There’s a lot you can do at the relaxed brewery bar a street back from Lyall Bay beach: surfers can turn up in jandals with a board under one arm, and dog walkers can take their pooches inside and cool off with a local beer.
Parrotdog Brewery is so close to the airport that it’s perfect for a cold one before or after a flight.
For punters wanting to literally see where their beer comes from, the brewery has launched weekend brewery tours.
Beer fans can see the huge stainless steel tanks where Parrotdog brews its core—range beers, monthly limited release ReinCanation series and their small batch, L.B. (Lyall Bay) Beer series, which is exclusively available at Parrotdog Bar and their cellar door, Nice Takeaway.
The tours have been launched to reveal the story behind one of Wellington’s craft beer success stories.
Come as you are is about being a bar for everyone and we’ve worked to capture this idea by designing a home away from home, somewhere that anyone and everyone can feel comfortable in
