The critically acclaimed and Grammy-nominated band will be touring in support of their latest album, Dragon New Warm Mountain I Believe In You. Bringing their intimate show to Wellington’s Michael Fowler Centre on 4 December.

Brooklyn-born Big Thief are one of the most prolific and adored left-field folk guitar bands of recent times. Fans across the globe adore their organic and honest soundscapes.

The brand new live show explores the latest double-LP which digs deep into the inner psyche of members Adrianne Lenker, Max Oleartchik, Buck Meek, and James Krivchenia. In 2020, the band decided to write and document their growth as individuals, and musicians over four distinct recording sessions.

While the band members are generally casual and low-key, their live show is anything but. Wellington can expect a powerful, honest and energetic performance. Big Thief’s sound is reminiscent of an electrified Neil Young, bouncing between soft traditional country ditties through to experimental folk, and playful energic ballads. This is a unique experience not to be missed.
