ICC Women's Cricket World Cup 2022
The very best international cricketers compete for the ICC Women's Cricket World Cup at Basin Reserve in March 2022
Wellington's first match on Sunday 13 March will see the Kiwis take on the Aussies in a friendly rival clash followed by Australia, South Africa and England playing a series of matches against yet to be determined qualifiers. The semi-final on Wednesday 30 March will be an epic end note to the international tournament at Basin Reserve.
White Ferns captain Sophie Devine is a Wellingtonian which makes these matches all the more important as she takes on the world in front of a home crowd. The Wellington Blaze all-rounder is regarded as one of the most powerful players in world cricket and is an integral member of the White Ferns in both T20 and One Day cricket. Sophie is the first cricketer (male or female) to score five consecutive 50-plus scores in T20 internationals.
This will be the twelfth edition of the Women’s Cricket World Cup which was first held in 1973, making it the oldest ODI World Cup tournament on the planet. The first men’s ODI World Cup was held in 1975.
Be there to support the White Ferns in this tournament of global proportions.
