Requiem For An Airport

City Gallery, Civic Square, 101 Wakefield Street, Wellington

View map

To celebrate the opening of City Galleries new exhibition 'Terminal' five speakers deliver a Requiem for an Airport.

At the start of 2020, no one could have predicted that the global aviation industry would be grounded and then in various states of financial freefall. The airport once the locus of productivity is now relatively...quiet.

City Galleries five writers and speakers offer entertaining and thought-provoking takes on the airport. Will their requiems feel nostalgic? Zeitgeisty? Problematic? Dystopian? Does the airport even deserve a requiem? After all, just because you’re down, doesn’t mean you’re out.
