Here's everything you need to know before entering the Wellington Unlocked competition

  • By entering the ‘Wellington Unlocked’ competition you accept the Terms and Conditions (Terms) set out below.
  • The Promoter of this competition is Wellington Regional Economic Development Agency Limited (WellingtonNZ /WREDA) (The Promoter), Level 1, 175 Victoria Street, PO Box 10 017, Wellington, New Zealand, in conjunction with Wellington City Council.
  • Employees of The Promoter, Wellington City Council, and any participating retailers and their immediate family members are not eligible to enter.
  • You must live in the Wellington region and be 18 years of age or older to enter this competition. If requested by The Promoter, you must provide proof of your age. 
  • Entries will open at 07:00AM (NZST), Monday 8 June 2020 and close at 11.59pm (NZST), Sunday 26 July 2020(The Competition Period).
  • To enter the competition, you must make an in-store purchase of at least NZ$40 at any Participating Retailer (a list of which is available at WellingtonNZ.com/ShopLocal), and enter all required fields on the online competition form at WellingtonNZ.com/ShopLocal, including a receipt number or approximate time of purchase.
    • The purchase must have been made (at any point) during the Competition Period
    • The purchase of at least $NZ40 represents one entry, larger purchase values do not correspond to multiple entries
    • Online purchases and click-and-collect are ineligible.
    • The purchase of alcohol, lotto and vouchers/gift cards are ineligible.
    • The purchase of services (e.g. haircuts) are ineligible. 
  • You may enter the competition multiple times during the Competition Period, however only one entry per email address, per day, per retailer will be permitted.
  • You must retain proof of purchase from the retailer, and this will be verified upon a winner being drawn. If you cannot produce this, a re-draw may be undertaken.
  • The promotion is not open to schools, clubs or businesses – only individuals can enter, for personal purchases. 
  • At the end of each of the seven weeks of the Competition Period (Monday- Sunday), one winner will be randomly selected from the eligible entries on the following Monday (the first being Monday 15 June 2020, and every Monday thereafter until Monday 27 July 2020)at the offices of WellingtonNZ, Level 1, 175 Victoria Street, Wellington, New Zealand, and will be notified by email or phone shortly after. If the winner does not confirm acceptance of their prize by 12:00pm (NZST) on the subsequent Friday, a second prize draw will be undertaken. In the event of a second prize draw, if the new winner drawn does not respond to their winner’s notification email within 72 hours, a third prize draw will be undertaken, and so on until the winner is finalised.
  • The overall prize pool is worth NZ$25,000, consisting of seven major weekly prizes as follows: 

Week 1 (Monday 8 June – Sunday 14 June 2020): Shopping spree worth $2500
$2500 worth of vouchers to use at any Wellington city retailer of the winner’s choice (may be split into multiple vouchers at winner’s discretion)

Week 2 (Monday 15 June – Sunday 21 June 2020): Shopping spree worth $2500
$2500 worth of vouchers to use at any Wellington city retailer of the winner’s choice (may be split into multiple vouchers at winner’s discretion)

Week 3 (Monday 22 June – Sunday 28 2020): Grocery shopping spree worth $2500.
$1250 worth of vouchers for Moore Wilsons and $1250 worth of vouchers for Commonsense Organics

Week 4 (Monday 29 June – Sunday 5 July 2020):  Grocery shopping spree worth $2500.
$1250 worth of vouchers for Moore Wilsons and $1250 worth of vouchers for Commonsense Organics

Week 5 (Monday 6 July – Sunday 12 July 2020): Luxury escape in the Wairarapa for 4 worth $5000.
The winner and their travelling companions must be 18 or over.

  • The winner will receive one prize that corresponds to the week their winning entry was entered (which may not necessarily be when the purchase was made).
  • Winners must collect their prize from WellingtonNZ (Level 1, 175 Victoria Street, Wellington).
  • Prize components are subject to availability and may be substituted for a similar alternative by The Promoter.
  • The competition is a game of luck. All decisions of The Promoter in relation to the competition shall be final and no correspondence will be entered into.
  • The prize components will be redeemed on dates mutually agreed upon by the Winner, the Promoter, and the prize suppliers. Travel prizes are subject to availability, travel restrictions as a result of Covid-19 Alert Levels, and may not be available to be redeemed on school/public holidays.
  • Except as set out in the prize packages above, all other expenses, such as travel, and any other ancillary costs of taking up the prize will be at the winners’ own expense.
  • For staycation prizes, all efforts will be made for the winner and their travel companions to take all elements of the prize at the same time. The Promoter will not be responsible if not all components are available on the winner’s preferred dates. Any changes made to the prize by the winner or their travel companions, including extending the trip, are at their own expense and must be arranged by the winner and their travel companions.
  • The prizes cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer.
  • By accepting the prize, the prize winner consents to The Promoter using their details and photographs for promotional and media publicity purposes and consents to participate in any publicity arrangements (including interviews) reasonably required by The Promoter.
  • The Promoter and their associated agents act only as agents or resellers for other parties (suppliers) who provide the component parts of this prize package. Individual suppliers’ standard policies and terms and conditions apply to the prize package components. All tickets, coupons and exchange orders issued in respect of any prize package component provided are subject to the individual supplier’s terms and conditions.
  • The Promoter accepts no responsibility for an individual supplier’s failure to supply the prize for any reason, or in the form expected, and are not obliged to provide an alternative prize or take legal action to require the supplier to carry out their obligations.
  • All prize components are non-refundable for cash either in part or in whole and are not transferable to any persons, unless agreed in writing by The Promoter. 
  • The Promoter reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify any entrant who it considers to be ineligible or who tampers with the competition entry or draw process, or who fails to comply with these Terms.
  • The Promoter shall not be liable for any loss or damage suffered or inflicted by you (including but not limited to direct or consequential loss) in connection with this competition. Due diligence is carried out to ensure the providers used in our competitions have health and safety measures in place at the time of promotion. We recommend contacting the product provider(s) to confirm any details and to ensure their latest initiatives comply with all Health & Safety and regulatory requirements ahead of taking up your prize. 
  • These Terms shall be governed by and construed according to the laws of New Zealand. You agree that the Courts of New Zealand shall have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute which may arise in connection with these Terms, unless otherwise agreed by the Promoter.
  • If when you entered the prize draw you chose to receive WellingtonNZ’s eNewsletters you may unsubscribe at any time by following the unsubscribe instructions included in each newsletter.
  • WellingtonNZ may collect personal information provided with your entry, which will be used to notify prize winners, verify entries, and generally administer this competition. WellingtonNZ respects privacy rights under the Privacy Act 1993 and will comply with the privacy principles in relation to the collection of any personal information from individuals entering this competition. All records and personal information for each week will be destroyed following the winner being drawn and their acceptance of the prize.
