Visa Wellington On a Plate is Wellington’s annual food festival, with a curated programme of festival events, pop-ups, chef collaborations, dishes, cocktails, and burgers.
Now in its 14th year, Visa Wellington On a Plate is firmly established as a key event in the festival calendar for people across the Wellington region, and New Zealand.
The festival runs for an entire month, making August the yummiest month of the year!

Showcasing the best the region has to offer, Dine Wellington asks chefs to create special dishes and set menus that tell the story of "Wellington on a Plate". The 70 set menus can be sampled from 1-14 August.
Tommy's presents Cocktail Wellington
Running for the entire month, Cocktail Wellington celebrates the city's many cocktail bars and creative bartenders. With over 80 cocktails with a snack-sized food pairing to choose from, it's the perfect way to start or end a Visa Wellington on a Plate evening.
Events and Pop Ups
One-off special events can be the most creative and exciting part of Visa Wellington on a Plate. There are over 80 ticketed events, and 29 pop ups that are free to attend – just pay for what you eat.
Garage Project presents Burger Wellington
Fresh off the grill, Burger Wellington will be dishing up thousands of burgers from over 200 venues. Running from 12-31 August, there will be juicy meat patties to plant-based wonders to be eaten for breakfast, lunch, and dinner – with a Garage Project beer to match.
