How to apply to study in Wellington
Choosing to study abroad can seem overwhelming, but we want you to have the easiest transition possible to studying in Wellington
Applying to study abroad is a big task. There are number of decisions to make, forms to fill out and boxes to check, and we want to make sure you’ve done what you need to move to the capital with ease.
Apply for your student visa
When you’ve made your choice, you’ll need to apply and be offered a place by the education provider. Once you’ve accepted your offer of study, you can begin your student visa application.
If you’re studying in New Zealand for more than three months, you can apply for one of two visas. A student visa allows you to study in New Zealand for up to four years and usually lasts as long as the course you’ve applied for. A pathway student visa allows you to study up to three consecutive courses over the period of five years.
Check if you’re eligible for scholarships or financial aid
Once your visa has been approved you can look at making the move to Wellington. We know that it’s a big investment to do that so there are scholarships available for international students for a range of subject areas, schools and financial and family situations. Each university has a range of scholarships international students can apply for.
We can’t wait to meet you and welcome you to Wellington!
