Queen Margaret College is Wellington’s leading, independent girls’ school, providing education for students from Year 1 to 13 with a co-educational Pre-School.
The College is an International Baccalaureate (IB) World School delivering the Primary Years Programme, the Middle Years Programme and the IB Diploma. The College is also recognised as one of the top schools for NCEA.
The curriculum fits closely with the holistic philosophy and international vision of the College. The College has a reputation for outstanding academic results and per previous years, the College achieved a 100% pass rate in the IB Diploma in 2016.
Established in 1919, the school is in a heritage building in the city which provides ready access to all that a capital city offers. We celebrate the cultural diversity of our students and that we are situated close to embassies, high commissions and Parliament.
Girls have numerous opportunities for involvement, high-level performance and leadership through sporting and cultural activities. The College teaches five languages and has over fifty nationalities working or studying at the school. The College will also offer onsite student accommodation from 2018 for Year 9 – 13. The boarding house will have forty-four rooms and will be the only girls’ school in Wellington offering such accommodation to its students.
