City break itinerary: Three nights in Wellington

Stay in the city and explore the Wellington region on day trips

With plenty to see and do, Wellington is an excellent place for a city break. The city is compact, so your clients can fly in and explore without needing a car.

Wellington is also a great hub for day trips to Wairarapa or Kāpiti Coast. With a wide range of accommodation options, you will be able to find the perfect spot to meet your client’s needs.

Day One

Afternoon:When your clients arrive in Wellington, it is only a short 15-minute taxi ride into the city centre.

Evening: After dinner, your clients could enjoy the evening on a Zealandia Twilight Tour, exploring the sanctuary as it transforms from day to night.

Day Two

Morning: Book your clients a personalised ‘bubble’ tour with Sightsee Wellington and they can see the city highlights, as well as the scenic coastline.

Lunch: Your clients could explore Wellington's little food haven, Hannah’s Laneway and enjoy one of the many lunch spots along the waterfront.

Afternoon: They could join a Te Papa Highlights Tour followed by some free time to explore the famous museum.

Evening: End their day with dinner at one of New Zealand's top restaurants or watch a show at one of the city’s top venues.

Day Three

Book your clients on a full day Wairarapa tour with Hammonds Wellington Tours. They'll see a lighthouse and the stunning coastline (and maybe some seals!) on a Palliser Bay Tour or they could enjoy gourmet cuisine and wine tasting at the vineyards on a Martinborough Wine Tour.

Alternatively, your clients could explore nature, see native wildlife and experience Māori hospitality with Kapiti Island Nature Tours. The full-day tour includes return transfers from the city.

Day Four

Morning: Your clients could experience Wellington’s movie magic on the Weta Cave Full Experience or Rover Rings Tour.

Lunch: They could explore the boutique and vintage shops along Cuba Street and enjoy lunch at one of the many cafés before they fly home
