Urban weekend Itinerary: Two Nights in Wellington

The ultimate city break that doesn't require a car

With plenty to see and do and daily flights from New Zealand's major airports, Wellington is a great place for a city break.

The city is compact, so your clients can fly in and explore without needing a car. With a wide range of accommodation options, you will be able to find the perfect spot to meet your client’s needs.

Day one – Friday

Afternoon: From Wellington Airport, it is only a short 15-minute taxi ride into the city centre. 

Evening: Your clients can explore the city by night and check out the award-winning dining and nightlife - cocktails are a specialty. 


Day two – Saturday

Morning: Catch the historical Wellington Cable Car and then at the top, they could take the free Zealandia shuttle to join the Zealandia by Day Tour.

Lunch: Enjoy lunch at Zealandia's Rata Cafe or head back into town for a casual but delicious lunch at one of the many cafés in the city centre.

Afternoon: Experience Wellington’s movie magic on the Weta Cave Full Experience which includes return transfers from the city centre.

Evening: Your clients can end the day with dinner at another award-winning restaurant or watch a show at one of the city’s top venues.

Day Three – Sunday

Morning: Your clients could explore a world of local treats at the Harbourside Market – Wellington’s favourite market.

Lunch: Explore boutique and vintage shops along Cuba Street and enjoy lunch at one of the many cafés

Afternoon: Book your clients to go on a Te Papa Highlights Tour followed by some free time to explore the famous museum before they fly home.
