Dawn Chorus Tour – Experience the awakening of the sanctuary at dawn and hear the first sounds of rare native birds such as the tīeke and hihi. Start between 6:15am-6.45am based on sunrise time. 2.5 hours including breakfast. $120 pp. FIT tours on weekends from May-August. 12-person max. Private tours for groups year-round. Ages 12+.  

Photography Tour - Join Zealandia’s resident photographers on a stroll through the sanctuary to photograph the very best of New Zealand’s native flora and fauna. Suitable for anyone, amateurs, pros, phone cameras or full DSLR. Allow 3.5 hours. $120 pp. FIT tours on weekends September-April. 8-person max. Private tours for groups year-round. Ages 12+. 


Pipinui Point at Boomrock Lodge

Art Narratives Tour at Museum of New Zealand, Te Papa Tongarewa

New Tour

Te Papa Museum has launched a new guided tour of their Toi Art gallery. Discover highlights from the national art collection – from historic to contemporary works, gain insights into key influences that have shaped more than 1,000 years of New Zealand art and visual culture. This 60-minute tour operates at 1.00pm from Thursday to Sunday and costs $20 per person.


Tākina - Wellington Convention and Exhibition Centre

Tākina, the Wellington Convention and Exhibition centre, will be Wellington’s first premium conference and exhibition space, due to be completed in 2023. This innovative new facility will provide 10,000 square metres of multipurpose conference and exhibition space over two floors, which can be tailored to single or multiple events.

Mövenpick Hotel Wellington - new to New Zealand is the Mövenpick Hotel. Located on the Terrace, overlooking central Wellington, this new five-star brand offers a daily chocolate hour, 24-hour sundae service and a 12-metre indoor heated lap pool, just to name a few.

Atura Wellington - EVENT has opened Atura Wellington, previously The Thorndon Hotel Wellington by Rydges, an invigorating new brand in New Zealand. Atura Wellington is Qualmark accredited and now open.

Naumi Wellington – After purchasing Comfort and Quality Hotels Wellington on Cuba Street, Singapore company Naumi Hotels has launched their first hotel Naumi Studio Hotel Wellington and will soon rebrand the current Q Hotel as Naumi Hotel Wellington.

Sojourn Apartment Hotel – Opened in late 2020, Sojourn Apartment Hotel is in the Wellington suburb, Newtown. Close to Wellington Zoo and other attractions and across the road from the Wellington Regional Hospital.

Ramada & Microtel – Ramada by Wyndham is now open on Taranaki Street with 72 rooms. Microtel by Wyndham is due to open soon on Vivian Street with 80 rooms. 

The Intrepid Hotel - This new, boutique hotel in the Cuba Precinct has 18 rooms and is full of character.
