Naumi Studio Hotel Wellington

In a heritage building on Wellington's most vibrant and creative street is a hotel that's a visual feast for the senses

Cuba Precinct

213 Cuba Street
Te Aro

This is one hotel that we challenge you to resist posting to Instagram. The hotel dazzles with the talents of New Zealand artists and designers.

The large-scale floral backdrop, created by Art Dept NZ, which is completely covered in gold leaf, sits majestically behind reception, lying below are bespoke rugs created by artist Karl Maughan and flowing through to the lobby is a majestic lighted floral sculpture by Angus Muir Designs.

Naumi is full of cosy nooks and spaces to relax and soak up the atmosphere. At the heart of the hotel is the grand bar, where you can sample delights from the curated cocktail list or selection of award winning New Zealand wines. Take your drink through to the sumptuous lounge area filled with stylish seating and surrounded by the books, oddities and objects collected by Lady Naumi and the Sailor. The Parlour area is a pastel green dreamscape, where you can relax the day away people watching and soaking up some sun.

The rooms at Naumi Studio Hotel Wellington have been lovingly renovated with a contemporary spin that still honours the charms of this unique heritage-listed building. Choose from six different room types, ranging from cosy and curated studios to an exquisitely furnished Executive Suite.

All rooms cleverly integrate design and function, optimising the space available and using pops of bold colour with floral accents to honour the heritage past of the building with a modern design twist. Rooms feature exquisite high ceilings and decorative windows for a ‘heritage chic’ experience.

Lola Rouge

Naumi's in-house restaurant Lola Rouge is a feast for all the senses. Dripping with luxe brass detailing and pink and red velvet, you'll be transported to a glamorous dining room in South East Asia as soon as you step into the restaurant.

The menu is a culinary journey around Asia, and includes a full page of plant-based dishes. For the carnivores, there's a range of seafood and meat dishes, including softshell crab and a tandoori tasting plate. Don't forget a nightcap - their cocktail menu is not to be missed, with an impressive selection of unique mixes.

If you've got a bigger group, the private dining is an intimate and breathtaking space for a real night to remember, or make the most of the 60-seater dining room and drink in the vibrant fit-out, in keeping with the rest of the whimsical hotel.
